Sweet

“Write something sweet” they said

Sweet like sugar

And little girls

Not sweet like me

“It hurts my heart” I hear myself say, as tears roll off my nose.  There is so much I don’t understand about you.  But I’d love to know more.  To see their skin.

Dark and beautiful

Smooth and ageless

Maybe it’s envy

“Hate them all! Put them in their place!”

“But this is OUR place” I said and I ran away

Ran fast and hard

Until I was away

Away enough to scream

I can’t hold it in any longer

I rip at my flesh

The pale bone white

I loathe it

Guilt paints words down the white and I am dirty
