Every Curve
My eyes struggle to stay open
My jaw tightens
I see her there, in a distance
Known only by space and time
She blinks fast
And I mouth the words to her
Keeping time
To the rushing water
Of the tides that are rolling in
I hear a gull
Ears perk up
I know it’s not you
But I can still wish
Your hands are cold
I warm them in my pockets
Keep them there a little too long
Like I was trying to keep you
Call to you like a songbird
Play your tune - memorize it
Memorize your body
Every twist and turn
Every curve
So I can draw it later in my mind
Pencil to paper and you appear.
